Nasce um Artista, para quê?
Sempre me questionei quantos artistas nasceram e morreram sem conseguirem mostrar a sua arte. Como artista, natural do Rio de Janeiro, cada vez que olho para a imensidão das favelas, apenas consigo imaginar quantos talentos estão acorrentados e corroídos pela necessidade nua e crua de sobrevivência.
Esta obra representa todos os “Firminos” pelo mundo que morreram sem mostrar a sua arte e convida-nos a refletir sobre o poder do social que silencia tantos talentos pelo mundo.

A Star is Born, but for what purpose?
I have always wondered how many artists were born and died without the chance to showcase their art. As an artist from Rio de Janeiro, every time I look at the vastness of the favelas, I can only imagine how many talents are shackled and corroded by the harsh and bare necessity of survival.
This work represents all the “Firminos” worldwide who died without showing their art and invites us to reflect on the power of society that silences so many talents globally.

Diogo Dalloz
Diogo Dalloz nasceu no Brasil, mas foi em Portugal que ganhou fascínio pela técnica e arte da joalharia portuguesa. Licenciado em Escultura pela Escola de Belas Artes da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ, teve o seu primeiro contacto com a joalharia em 2008, em Lisboa. Em 2009, mudou-se para o Porto, onde fez a pós-graduação em Design de Joalharia na ESAD.
Em 2011, criou a sua marca no Brasil, e as suas peças fazem parte do guarda-roupa de várias novelas da Globo e programas de entretenimento. Foi convidado a expor na NY Design Week. Em 2014, voltou a Portugal para um mestrado na ESAD.
Com sede no Porto, ele e sua esposa Luma Boêta buscam conquistar o mercado europeu com joias inovadoras e interativas.
Diogo cria joias com movimento e estrutura, que oscilam entre a sensualidade da forma e o pragmatismo da função.

Diogo Dalloz was born in Brazil, but in Portugal, he developed a passion for the technique and art of Portuguese jewellery. He graduated in sculpture from the School of Fine Arts at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and he made his first contact with jewellery in 2008 in Lisbon. In 2009, he moved to Porto, where he completed a postgraduate degree in Jewelry Design at ESAD. In 2011, he created his brand in Brazil, and his pieces are part of the wardrobe of several Globo soap operas and entertainment programs. He was invited to exhibit at NY Design Week. In 2014, he returned to Portugal for a master’s degree at ESAD. Based in Porto, he and his wife, Luma Boêta, aim to conquer the Portuguese and European markets with innovative and interactive jewellery. Diogo creates jewellery with movement and structure, oscillating between form’s sensuality and function’s pragmatism.
