Are you a creative professional interested in digital and media arts?

We are working on an international training program that aims to inspire and guide you through the digital transition of cultural and creative professionals.

And at this stage we are researching and willing to discuss and discover the needs, challenges and opportunities of the most actually prominent creative areas in this domains.

Programme:

18h00 - Challenges and Opportunities in creation / distribution of native digital art

Presentation session and open conversation Guest Speakers: João Bernardino (photography / AI) + Rodolfo Oliveira – Oficinas TK (NFTs / metaverse) Moderator: Miguel Barbot (O Ofício) A brief presentation of the work of each of the 2 guests, followed by a discussion about the opportunities, challenges and new skills required in the creation and distribution of creative / artistic work – from the perspective and experience of the 2 invited case studies.

19h00 - Discussion / Co-Visioning Session

A working session in groups that will discuss and envision “how can a training program facilitate the exploration of digital and media artforms by artists from more traditional disciplines”

Tânia Almeida SantosCRU Creative Hub / ECHN / Quarteirão Criativo

Tânia Almeida Santos was born and is based in Porto, Portugal. She is graduated in Psychology and is a Master practitioner in Economics and Innovation Management.

In 2012 she founded CRU, a Creative Hub dedicated to developing a multidisciplinary and extensive community of professionals from the creative industries. In 2019 Tânia was elected, and reelected in 2022, as vice-president of European Creative Hubs Network, a non-profit organization that aims to connect and support creative hubs across Europe. In 2022 she co-founded Quarteirão Criativo – Associação para o Desenvolvimento Local, a non-profit organization that aims to promote Bombarda – the Creative District of Porto in it’s multi-dimensions: cultural, social, urbanistic, environmental and and economic, in a local, regional and international level.

About the Projects:

DigiArt is an Erasmus + Project (KA220-VET – Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training), co-funded by the European Union, proposed and coordinated by Les Creatives des Demain and which has European Development Institute (EDI), Education and Future Technologies Association (EFTA), EKA Creative Studio and CRU Creative Hub as main partners.

The goal of this program is to support and guide artists in their incursions on digital and media arts by designing a vocational education training program that covers the most actually prominent creative areas in this domain.

Bombarda Digital Lab is a initiative of Bombarda – Quarteirão Criativo – Associação para o Desenvolvimento Local, supported by Convocatória Aberta para a Inovação e Transição Digital, do Município do Porto.

This project consists of an innovation Bootcamp for the ideation, prototyping and potential programming of tools or apps that constitute digital extensions for a creative district: Bombarda – Porto Creative District.

The central idea of this proposal is based on the formulation of a challenge as a means to train new agents with skills of innovation, and to raise awareness of the digital transition, highlighting its benefits for local development.

About the Guest Speakers:

João Bernardino, was born in Lisbon in 1972 and lives in Porto since 2000, Designer, Professor and founder of Antsmedia Design Studio, where he carried out communication design projects for numerous national and international organizations. Stubborn Instagramer (@joao.bernardino), he has developed in recent years several photography related content marketing projects for Fujifilm, Samsung, European Commission, GoTürkiye, Rotterdam Partners, Mini and Xiaomi among others.
Rodolfo Oliveira is a self-taught artist, founder of Oficinas TK, invested in the Ethereum blockchain in 2018, having founded the TCBA – Thoreau Center for the Blockchain Arts in 2019. Oficinas TK is the name under which Rodolfo has operated since 2015, in the areas of micro-editing, engraving, photography and digital art, having in 2018 started creating NFTs on platforms such as Super Rare, Known Origin or Async Art.

About the Facilitators:

Atalay Akpinar is Co-Founder & Community Curator of EKA Creative Studio, a community-oriented design services organization based in Istanbul, specializes in facilitating connections between like-minded individuals and fostering mutual learning, growth, and creativity. At the Digi Art MeetUp, he will co-facilitate with Tania to guide participants towards unleashing their full creative potential to tackle challenges & investigate opportunities.
Miguel Barbot is Oficio’s co-founder, creative director and coordinator, where he supports entrepreneurs and companies in their business processes, with a special focus on the cultural and creative industries. Miguel is a consultant with 20 years of experience, being an expert in marketing, design and innovation.
Tânia Almeida Santos is the founder and director of CRU, the first Creative Hub in Porto. Her purpose is to think and create better conditions for the practice of independent creative work and thereby contribute to increase the impact that the creative and collaborative ecosystem has on society and economy. On that mission, Tânia Santos is heading the boards of several relevant organisations such as European Creative Hubs Network and Bombarda – Quarteirão Criativo.
