Creative Hubs across Europe have become points of convergence for creative and active communities in their local environments.

Collaborative workspaces are safe havens for the independent workforce and for experimentation by creative minds, often being the cradle of many innovative and socially impactful projects and ventures.

Within the scope of the Twin Hubs project, a creative hub from Belgrade (Nova Iskra) and one from Porto (CRU) visit each other and cooperate to understand how they can contribute to contaminating their surroundings with their collaborative dynamics.

20h15 - 21h15 - Brave New World - Panel Discussion (EN)

Brave New World — Questioning the Role of Technology in Shared Communities

Welcome to Brave New World, a panel discussion where the intersection of creativity and technology unfold to reveal a panorama of potential and the precipice of overpromise. You’re invited to an open conversation where technology isn’t a silver bullet, creativity isn’t a magical cure-all, and yet, both combined can ignite change and innovation.

This isn’t not about the promise of far-off tech utopias. It’s about the shared future of our neighborhood. Our guides on this journey are Irena Übler, a eco-conscious product designer bringing innovation down to earth, Miguel Gil Marques, a motion designer who channels his ceaseless curiosity and thrill for experimentation into his work, and António Baia Reis, an academic provocateur whose critical gaze dissects the societal repercussions of immersive media.

Moderated by Pedro Galego, a neighborhood tech explorer, this talk promises to be a journey through our hopes, our fears, and the gritty reality in between. Dial down the noise, peel back the hype, and let’s have a critical dialogue about the world we live in, and the worlds we might yet create. An invitation to question, to reflect, and to dream about brave new worlds – can we chart our own course? How will we shape our collective future?
